Laws
- All fish listed
in the A.N.S.A. species list, with the exception
of "skin
fish", shall be eligible for weigh-in. (All
Rays, Catfish, and Sharks)
- All fish not included
in the A.N.S.A. species list shall be given a factor
of one (1).
- All fish shall be
gutted and gilled for weigh-in purposes, except for
record claims. (The Weigh masters decision is final)
- Fish shall be in
a fresh condition and may be cut as necessary provided
the sections remain joined by a continuous piece of skin.
- A total of five (5)
fish may be weighed in at Club Competitions, however
there is to be no more than two (2) of any one species.
- Club Competitions
points are to be calculated as per the formula and
fighting factor listed in the A.N.S.A. handbook.
- All normal monthly
Club Competitions shall start at 18.00hrs Friday evening,
with a weigh-in to be held 1630hrs to 1730hrs on the following
Sunday. Or as otherwise decided at the monthly meeting
prior to the competition. Members must present fish for weigh-in
when requested by weigh master. (The Weigh masters
decision is final)
- Minor variations
to fishing rules can be made at the Club meeting prior
to the competition.
- Winner of Monthly
Competitions shall be handicapped as follows:-
Overall
division 100
points
Standard
division 50
points
Tagging 4
Tagging points
Handicap to double
for the next monthly competition. After the following
month, handicaps revert to Nil. For example Mr X
wins the overall division in January. In February,
his handicap is 100 points in overall division. If
he doesn't win the February competition, his handicap reverts
to Nil in March. However, if he wins the February
competition also (taking into account his 100 point handicap)
his handicap for March is still 100 points.
* Please
note the Tagging Division is the exception to this handicap
rule. Tagging handicaps will double each time a winner
is successful, until the end of the year, when the handicap
reverts to nil
- All monthly Club Competitions
shall be fished in division 1, 2, and tagging only and
all line classes will be as per the A.N.S.A. handbook, with
the exception of 1Kg. line. Club Competition winners will be
determined in three (3) divisions:
(i) Overall
(ii) Standard
(iii) Tagging
- When
fishing normal Monthly Club Competitions, fish captured on
1Kg. line will have point calculated on 2Kg. line class for
Competition purposes, except when the monthly Club Competition
is fished in conjunction with interclub competitions, in which
case the rules, regulations and conditions of that event will
apply to that event only, with Club rules and by-laws used
for any Townsville Sportfishing Club awards.
- Tagging points will be
allocated as per the A.N.S.A. Handbook tagging point's
factor.
- The recorders report of preceding
competition shall be tabled at each subsequent Club meetings.
- Weigh-in sites are to be determined
at Club Meetings.
- A minimum of 50% of Club
Competitions are to be closed.
- Normal monthly Competitions
shall be fished on weekends where the tides are acceptable
for the venue, and not necessarily on the weekend following
the monthly meeting.
- A member must be a current
financial member of the Club and A.N.S.A. in order to weigh
in fish at the Club, interclub or A.N.S.A. competitions.
- No boundaries shall apply
for Competitions which are classed as open Competitions.
- Some club Competitions
shall be fished under nominated line classes only.
- A
Club captain shall be appointed for the fishing year.
- Fish caught on sanctuaries or
private property shall not be eligible for weigh-in on
normal Club Competitions.
- All awards and/or certificates
in the Townsville Sportfishing Club fishing year and fished
for during the year regardless of whether in conjunction
with a club trip or otherwise be allocated a points score
in accordance with standing fishing rules, by-laws set
by the Club.
- Parameters for all Club trophies/awards
must comply with current Club by-laws.
